The story of the unknown embargo. To Scotland on detours
The trip to Scotland was planned as early March. That was because Littlest Hobo should start a little earlier. To best travel time (always check the midgets-time if you want to see the highlands) I wanted to be in the north of the island. Now it become November. Reaching the island with animals is notoriously more difficult was after 2012 but already easier. I thought at least.
There is the railway. Lack of an alternative, you take the Eurotunnel. The seawa has also maintained rather well arranged. Important: You must check which company just has permission to drive the island. Routes and businesses are subject to change with each update of the PTS. Or there is a problem that can not even explain the competent authorities in the UK.
Littlest Hobo will take dog owners the fear of travel. For dog owners, the unfounded fear has spread, with a dog you can not fly. The stress would be too high. Even the most persistent barkers fall asleep eventually. And if not, then the dog is anyway in a mood in which not even accuses him fly further off track. Not more than being alone can Bello wear him down.
How does the alternative looks like? The dog is usually passed to someone in the family who did not leave the room fast enough. This one has usually not the greatest experience with dogs, but is at least he´s trying. “Well Bello, we both make us a good time. We do not need a holiday.” Similarly, it runs on for the dog. Unknown environment unsafe dogsitter. This leads both to increased stress levels and Bello doubts slowly that he dosent need holidays.
A flight from Berlin to Scotland, for example, takes three hours. Possibly the dog reacts to the unknown situation. But after the flight mommy and daddy are waiting for him. He will briefly shaken, mommy and daddy stuff profusely treats in the pet, the dog gets an extra dose of cuddling and the dogworld is back in order.
A flight is in addition to the boarding and landing just monotonous noises and a semi-dark room. I know what happens to me in such a situation.
I would like to wrote a preview like this after landing. However, it was so that some airlines that are listed in the PTS for my route, felt it was necessary to impose an embargo on the entry with dog to UK
Only Lufthansa Cargo wanted to bring my dog as cargo. So I wanted to travel as cargo also. My sounds very funny to the counterofficer. At least until I assured him of my sincerity. I should fly on another flight, he said. Yes, Noo. So does flying makes no fun.
Even Air Berlin, while not actually flew the route, but cooperates with British Airways, did so, as it had never heard from taking dogs on the plane.
Tip: Roads do not check by the airlines on the list are. Some cooperate with listed airlines. so you get the cheaper flights. boarding eliminated but. these do not provide transport of animals.
That was very interesting, because, as mentioned above, the approved airlines from time to time change. In the summer, I had a very great conversation with the customerservice of Air Berlin. I must indeed look on the money and Air Berlin was in the summer by far the cheapest airline. (The cost of animal transport differ among the airlines. When a man, for example, the cost of the airline pays over which he has booked, the dog must always pay the price by leading airline.)
The cheapest airline now (incidentally, all with stops in Amsterdam, no direct flight – it noted already, PTS is in constant change) offered to take me up to that stopover. Then I had to come alone on. The return flight, incidentally, was not a problem.
Somewhat confused, I wrote to “Animal and Plant Health Agency” (APHA), the British Embassy in Berlin, and the Tourist Office. Surprisingly no one from these people have had any idea what I’m talking and referred me to the current PTS.
Great outcry and further questioning I realized, wont help here. I decided to wrote the press offices of the Airlines with penetrating questions, but im getting no answer so far. (Should this change, I’m updating)
So it was in any case, that we will make the journey by car. But no fear. All is not as difficult as in the U.K. to travel. And if the entry regulations of a country permit it, then we’ll be there someday. Even by plane.
Conclusion: The entry requirements according to U.K. are constantly changing. The PTS should always be checked several times. To the was until recently still on all routes, the obligation to transport the dog in a box. By ferry I have the opportunity to let the dog now no box in the car. If you have then you chose a route, only the medical part of the dog has to be done. Read more in the service.
